The thumb or board piano is adapted from an ancient folk instrument originating in Africa centuries ago. The board piano is also called "Mbiri" or "Kalimba". This sweet and simple instrument is being enjoyed by children and musicians alike today in the 21st century. Tuned in the key of "C" and easy to care for this thumb piano should last a lifetime. The simple model is 8" tall and 5 1/2" wide and is made in several types of exotic hardwoods including Cherry, Mahogany, and Walnut. Also available is a 12-Note version ($57), Gourd styles of both (8-Note: $69; 12-Note: $89) and song books for both styles ($7 and $9 respectively).
