John Luke lives near Seattle, Washington and has been making fine wood jewelry boxes for several decades. John includes Oriental touches on many of his jewelry boxes, with the resulting design a perfect blend of East and West. Figured maple is one of John's favored woods, but the highlights and accents are often formed with purple heart--a Brazilian hardwood.
